Hope you’ve had a good start to 2026. It’s been a long time since my last newsletter, but I have some exciting news to share!
Amarath
I’d like to introduce you to the campaign book for Dragonbane I’ve been writing since the end of 2024: Amarath. The first draft is written and I’m in the stages of polishing the text and making sure it’s actually fun before sending it to the editor.

The book turned out quite differently from what I envisioned at first, and instead of being a quirky science fantasy romp, it’s a bit darker in theme and more of a planar sword and sorcery adventure in the vein of Michael Moorcock. Thanks to over 20 detailed locations, all with their own random tables for every possible situation, it should provide enough meat for a longer campaign than anything I’ve ever written. Just as with Shadow over Gloomshire, Amarath is open-ended and filled to the brim with random tables. I’ve playtested it with two different groups, and so far the reception has been great!
Writing this book has been a rollercoaster, mainly due to the sheer size of it. With my other adventures, I’ve been able to put them together in a few weeks, but this turned out to be a different beast. I’ve probably written three times as much material as actually went into the final book, but after killing a lot of darlings I think the result is really tight and cohesive.
